Travel Adventures to Try from Tame to Bold

Traveling in and of itself is an adventure. It’s exciting to see a new place or try something new. But for some people, it’s hard to go from 0 to 60 just like that. If you’ve wanted to try something a little more daring for your next travel excursion, here are some suggestions that run the gamut from easy to hard. You can choose something that’s not too far from your comfort zone or go all out and dare to be different.

America is the land of the beautiful. You don’t need to leave the country to experience adventure here. We have 50 states full of adventures and chances are, you haven’t been to nearly enough of them. For a more tame adventure, you can take a road trip and stop along roadside attractions along the way to your destination. Make your way to Ginnie Springs, Florida for lazing on the water in a tube.

Some would argue that just by visiting Australia, you’ve already done something daring enough. This country has the most dangerous animals and insects on the planet. Still, you can choose a safer bet when you visit. For example, you could test out your golf skills in Coober Pedy, where you’ll find the driest golf course in the world.

Go a little more daring by drift snorkeling in the rainforest rivers Queensland. You can find tours for adults and kids. It’s a bit more adventurous but not too much so, and is ideal if you’ve never tried snorkeling before but have always wanted to.

Why do you keep perpetuating the myth of Australia’s dangerous creatures. Most of our animals are nocturnal and the average tourist is hardly likely to see them. Put on insect repellant for the mozzies and sand flies as you do anywhere else in the world. Pay attention to and obey warning signs about crocodiles and stingers. Would you rush up to a lion in Africa or stand on the path of an elephant? As for snakes and spiders you’d be very unlucky to encounter one, much less be bitten by it…
